RÖSTÅNGAFESTIVALEN 1:a Juni 2013
SINGER, SONGWRITER, COMPOSER & WRITER
on 5 Albums, 3 Maxi-singles, 7 Films and a variety of work in TV, Commercials and Jingles. Performer in Various Festivals, Theaters, Club-venues as well as FILM & TV-shows. Published recordings with major labels like UNIVERSAL, EMI and also independent labels & production companies.
As a singer she has developed her voice together with the songs she has written and the music she loves singing or listening to. She also had vocal studies (at "Berklee College of Music” in Boston) and has learned a great deal through improvising and experimenting with different techniques. Techniques that she has personally developed and applied as a Vocal Coach.
In 2007 she recorded a solo-album called "Jazzuality”. Many of the songs included on the album come from a repertoire played for many years together with the musicians & friends that participated on the album. She wanted to catch that Live-sound, the variety and those unpredictable interpretations that usually turns out different from performance to performance.
Mainly guided by intuition and spontaneous inspiration, qualities that have been fundamental when composing for example film music, she creates a very intimate and visual music. Carita is the author, musician and singer of several Film-scores, Released albums, music for Television and some publicity.
Some of Caritas "favorite” artists and source off inspiration are Sting, Joni Mitchell, Norah Jones, Maria Rita, Yousson N’Dour, Prince, Aretha Franklin, Richard Bono, Bebo Valdés & Cigala, Dexter Gordon, Gil Evans, Miles Davis, Niels Lan Doky, E.S.T, Dorantes, Maria Callas, Mozart & Beethoven…
A very deep, difficult, traumatic yet fascinating experience some years ago, has lead her to the necessity of expressing these deep emotions through music, words and images that hopefully can appeal to and comfort people (especially women) in similar situations or with similar experiences. This new project and ongoing journey is named after her daughter; "Liv”.
